If you get Max through a TV, internet, or wireless provider, you need to connect your provider account (with your Max subscription Code) before signing in to Max.
To connect your provider with your Max subscription, follow these steps:

Go to the Max Website:

Open your web browser and go to https://www.max.com/.

Sign In or Sign Out:
- If you are already signed in, click on your profile icon and choose “Sign Out.
- If you are not signed in, proceed to the next step.

Choose Your Provider:
- On the right side of the screen, look for the section labeled “Connect Your Provider” or similar.
- Select the company you get Max (or HBO) through.
- If you don’t see your provider listed, click on “View All” or a similar option to search for it.

Enter Provider Information:
- On your provider’s sign-in screen, enter your provider account information (username and password).
- Click on “Sign In.”

Verify and Create Account:
- Once you’re verified by your provider, you might be prompted to create a Max account if you don’t already have one.
- Provide the required information, such as your name and email address.
- Agree to the terms and privacy policy.
- Click on “Create Account.”

Phone or tablet
Here’s how to connect your provider:
- Open Max, choose Sign in and then Connect.
iPhone or iPad
1. Choose or search for the company you get Max through.
2. On your provider’s sign-in screen, enter your provider account info and choose Sign In.
3. If prompted, complete the account form and choose Create Account.
4. Already have an account? Enter your Max or HBO Max email address on the Create Your Account screen. Then, on the Account Found screen choose Verify Email Address.
5. Choose Start Streaming and then you’re ready to stream.
If you added a password to your Max account, you can sign in on any supported device using your account email and password.
Note Your HBO Max profiles, watch history, and settings are available in Max.
Computer
Here’s how to connect your provider:
1. Go to max.com on your computer and choose Sign In.
2. On the right, choose the company you get Max through or choose View All to find your provider.
3. On your provider’s sign-in screen, enter your provider account info and choose Sign In.
4. If prompted, complete the account form and choose Create Account.
5. Choose Start Streaming, who’s watching, and then you’re ready to stream.
TV device
Here’s how to connect your provider:

- On your TV device, open Max, choose Connect Your Provider.
Already signed in? Choose the Settings icon and then Sign Out.
Apple TV: Choose Allow to let Max use your TV provider info from iOS Settings. Or, choose Don’t Allow to select your provider from the list. - Stay on the screen with the QR code while you grab your phone or computer.
- On your TV device, open Max, choose Connect Your Provider.
Now, on your phone or computer:
- Do one of the following:
- Scan the QR code on your TV with your phone’s camera.
-or- - On your phone or computer, go to max.com/providers and enter the 6-character code from your TV.
- Scan the QR code on your TV with your phone’s camera.
- Choose the company you get Max through. If you’re using a computer, choose View All or search for your provider.
- On your provider’s sign-in screen, enter your provider account info and choose Sign In.
- If prompted, complete the account form and choose Create Account.
Already have an account? Enter your Max or HBO Max email address on the Create Your Account screen. Then, on the Account Found screen choose Verify Email Address. - On your TV, choose Start Streaming, and then who’s watching, and you’re ready to stream.
‘Can’t verify your subscription’ message
Make sure Max is included with your TV, internet, or wireless package. To do this, sign in your provider account on your provider’s website and make sure Max is included.
Apple TV: Try removing your TV provider from your Apple TV settings, and then try connecting your provider again. On your Apple TV, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > TV Provider > Remove TV Provider.
Can’t sign in to your provider account?
- Go to your TV, internet, or wireless provider’s website.
- Sign in with your provider account.
Note If you can’t sign in, look for an option to reset your password. If this doesn’t help, please contact your provider for help. Max Support doesn’t have access to your provider sign-in information. - After you successfully sign in on your provider’s website, go back to Max and try the Connect your provider steps again.
Code not working?
- Open a private or incognito browser window and then go to max.com/providers
- Get a new code. To do this, go back and choose Connect again on your TV device
- Enter the code from your TV at max.com/providers on your computer instead of your phone (or vice versa)
- Try using a different supported browser (Chrome, FireFox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari)
