Instant-join is a feature that allows your students to join your game of Gimkit at www.gimkit.com without entering a game code or typing in their names! All they have to do is visit https://www.gimkit.com/play and they’re in your game!!
To join a Gimkit game, you’ll need the game code or join link provided by your teacher or host. Here’s how to join:
Go to gimkit.com/join on your device’s web browser.
Enter the game code:
- If your teacher provided a game code, type it into the box on the Gimkit join page.
- If your teacher provided a join link, click on the link and it will take you directly to the game.
Enter your name or nickname:
- If your teacher is using the Nickname Generator, you may need to approve the nickname it suggests for you.
You’re in! Wait for the game to start.
If your teacher is using Classes and you’re already logged into Gimkit, you might join the game automatically without needing to enter a code. If you’re having trouble joining, double-check the game code and make sure you’re on the correct Gimkit join page.
You can also join using a QR code if your teacher displays one. The game code or join link is essential for joining a Gimkit game. Make sure you have it ready before going to the Gimkit join page.
Have students visit https://www.gimkit.com/play. If they are logged in and in your class, they will join automatically. If not logged in, when they type in the game code, they will be prompted to login.

How To End A Game Early
Ending a Live Gimkit game early is easy.
Simply click the exit button at upper right. The icon is a half circle with an arrow pointing to the right.
