There are a couple of main ways to check the Epic Games Public Status:

1. Visit the Epic Games Public Status website:

  • This website provides real-time updates on the status of various Epic Games services, including the Epic Games Store, Fortnite, and other online features.
  • You’ll see a summary of the current status at the top, and you can scroll down for details on specific components or past incidents.

2. Use third-party status monitoring websites:

  • Several websites track the status of various online services, including Epic Games.
  • You can search for “Epic Games status” on your preferred search engine to find these sites.
  • Some popular options include:

The Epic Games Public Status website allows you to subscribe to updates via email or RSS feed, so you’ll be notified automatically if there are any issues.

Why is a game listed as Unavailable or not visible on the Epic Games Store?

Games are listed as Unavailable or not visible on the Epic Games Store for one of two reasons:

  1. Your account already owns the content that’s included in the product. For example, if you purchase Borderlands 3 Standard Edition, you won’t be able to purchase the Deluxe or Super Deluxe Edition.If you’re unable to purchase an upgrade to a different version of the game, you can request a refund on your account. If you’re eligible for a refund and once it is processed, you’ll be able to purchase another version of the game
  2. Your account is located in a region where the game is not available to purchase. Region restrictions are handled by the developer of the game, and Epic Games Player Support can’t remove these upon request

What Epic Account information does Epic share with other services?

Other services can request the following information associated with your account:

  • Your display name
    To learn how to review and update your display name, see How do I change my display name?
  • Your linked accounts
    You can review the accounts you have linked on the account management portal.
  • Your online status, which reflects whether you’re offline or online, and also gives the game you’re currently playing with your Epic Account
  • List of your Epic friends who have also authorized this game to see them

You will be asked for explicit consent about each of these pieces of information before a product or service can receive access to them.

Unable to contact patch server

You will see this error code if there is an outage with our servers or a problem with your network connection.

Epic Games server outage

There may be times where our servers are unavailable and you will see this appear. Be sure to check our status page here to see if there are any incidents happening. If there are, it’s best to wait until they are resolved and then try to install your game again.
