How to Add Medicare Card to Apple Wallet

To add your Medicare card to Apple Wallet, you’ll need to have Medicare linked to your myGov account. Once linked, open the myGov app and go to Wallet on your home screen. Select Add to wallet and follow the steps. Once the Medicare card is added, it can also be saved to the app home screen for quick access.

Follow these steps to link Medicare to myGov:

1) Sign in to myGov.

2) Select View and link services.

3) Select Link on the Medicare tile.

4) If your details are already recorded in myGov, they need to match your Medicare record. Select Continue. If you’re linking the Australian Taxation Office, Centrelink or Medicare for the first time you’ll need to agree to myGov storing your personal details. Select I agree.

5) You can link Medicare using your Medicare card details or a linking code. Select the best option for you, then select Next.

6) Enter your Medicare card number and personal details or your linking code. Select Next.

When you link Medicare to your myGov account you can:

  • make a claim
  • get a Medicare card
  • add or remove someone from your Medicare card
  • update your personal details
  • view your claim history and statements.

How to enrol

Enrol in Medicare by following these steps:

  1. complete a Medicare enrolment form
  2. send your form and supporting documents to us. You can post them to the address on the form or email them to Medicare Enrolment Services.

If you’re enrolling as a family, you’ll need to nominate a contact person for your Medicare card. We’ll send Medicare cards and other general information for everyone listed on the card to the contact person.

If you’re the only person listed on the Medicare card, you’ll be the contact person for the card.

You can also get a digital copy of your Medicare card. You’ll need to sign into the Express Plus Medicare mobile app to access it. To use the app, you need a myGov account linked to your Medicare online account. If you don’t have these, set them up and then download the app.

How do you get another Medicare card?

My card is lost or damaged  Log into (or create) your secure Medicare account to print or order an official copy of your Medicare card. You can also call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) to order a replacement card to be sent in the mail. TTY users can call 1-877-486-2048.

If you get Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) benefits, you can call 1-877-772-5772 to get a replacement card. TTY users can call 1-312-751-4701.
