How To Add Funds To 3DS 2023 in Nintendo eShop
Step-by-step instructions on how to ”Add Funds” to To 3DS 2023 Nintendo eShop using a credit card are given here. Ensure that the Nintendo Network ID (NNID) on your system is linked to a Nintendo Account.
In addition, the Nintendo 3DS eShop will be shut down on March 27th, 2023.
As a further cautionary note, it has been established that the Fire Emblem Fates digital game cannot be purchased through the 3DS eShop after the 28th of February, 2023. Despite this, the additional DLC will continue to be available for purchase until the whole eShop shuts down on March 27.
As of September 2019, credit cards cannot be used to add funds on systems in the Nintendo 3DS family or Wii U consoles.
What to Do:
1. Ensure that the Nintendo Network ID (NNID) on your system is linked to a Nintendo Account.
2. Visit https://ec.nintendo.com/my/balance_add, select the payment method you would like to use and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.
3. Once you have added funds to your NNID this way, you can use them both on the Nintendo website and directly within Nintendo eShop on your system.
The dreaded day has come when customers cannot use their credit cards to add funds to their Wii U or 3DS eShop accounts any longer. The only option to add funds directly through the 3DS or Wii U from this point forward until the service is discontinued in March 2023 is by purchasing eShop cards.
On the other hand, GameXplain just recently published a video in which they explain how you can link your Nintendo Account to your Nintendo Network I.D. This will enable you to combine monies across all of the different storefronts. This allows you to add funds to your Switch eShop account on the Switch console, and then utilise those dollars on the 3DS and Wii U eShops.
Although this was a feature that had been known about for some time, it is probable that many people have forgotten about it (hell, I had forgotten about it), which is why we believed it was vital to bring it to the attention of those who are still working to complete their collections.
Keep in mind, however, that this will only operate up until March of next year, when the Wii U and 3DS shops will be discontinued. Hence, if you still have some shopping to do, make sure you don’t forget about it while you still have some time to accomplish it.
