How To Activate Venmo Debit Card? : Getting Started with your Venmo Debit Card
To activate your Venmo Debit card in the Venmo app, go to the “Cards” tab and check under the Venmo Debit Card section. If you would rather activate by phone, call at 855-890-6779.
You can activate your Venmo Debit Card directly through the Venmo app:
Open the Venmo App: Launch the Venmo app on your smartphone.
Go to the “Cards” tab: Navigate to the “Cards” section within the app.
Select the Venmo Debit Card section: Find the area dedicated to your Venmo Debit Card.
Tap on “Activate”: You should see an “Activate” button or option. Tap on it.
Enter the CVV: You’ll be prompted to enter the CVV (Card Verification Value), the 3-digit code on the back of your card.
Create or Enter your PIN: If you haven’t already, create a PIN for your card. If you have, enter the existing PIN.
Wait for Confirmation: Once you see a green notification or confirmation message, your card is activated and ready to use!

When you’ve received your physical Venmo Debit Card and are ready to activate it, follow these steps in your Venmo app:
- Go to the Cards tab.
- Select the Venmo Debit Card section .
- Tap on the Activate.
- Enter the expiration date listed on the card
- The expiration date must follow the format MM/YYYY
- Create a PIN for your card (or enter the PIN if you’ve already set one up)
Once you see the green notification indicator, your card is ready for use!
Can I order more than one Venmo Debit Card? Can I add an additional card for someone else to my Venmo account?
The Venmo Debit Card links to your Venmo account. You can only have 1 active Venmo Debit Card associated with your Venmo account, and it must be in the name associated with the account.

How do I activate my Venmo Credit Card?
To activate your Venmo Credit Card, simply scan the QR code on the front of the card using your phone’s camera. You can also use the QR code scanner in the Venmo app. If you would rather activate by phone, call Synchrony Bank at 855-890-6779.
Expiring Venmo Debit Cards
The Venmo app will remind you to request a new Venmo Mastercard® Debit Card within 60 days of your current card’s expiration date. If your card expires on December 21st, you’ll be requested to order a new one at the start of November (11/21). Note that cards are null and void on the last day of the month specified on the card.
You’ll then be able to request your new card by tapping the in-app notification or going to the “Venmo Debit Card” section of the app.
If you haven’t used your current Venmo Debit Card, you may be prompted to complete a transaction before a new card can be issued.
If you’ve moved since receiving your most recent card, you can update your shipping address by tapping the pencil icon next to your address.
It’s important to activate your new card right away once it arrives. Replacement cards that are not activated within 90 days will be permanently closed. Once your new card is activated, the expired card should be destroyed.
How long will it take to get my Venmo Debit Card?
