After successfully completing the RICA process:​

1. Insert the SIM: Place the Telkom SIM into your phone or compatible device.

2. Dial USSD Code: Dial *101# to check your balance and confirm activation. If the balance doesn’t display, try dialing *101# two to three times and restart your device until you receive a balance SMS confirmation message.

3. Set Up Data Services: Once the SIM is active, dial *180# to access the Telkom menu. From there, you can purchase data bundles, change tariff plans, and manage other services.

How to activate IP Voice (VOIP)

1. Understand IP Voice: IP Voice is an alternative telephone service that works off your Internet connection. For Telkom Internet bundle customers, it cuts out unnecessary landline costs and you are only charged for your Calling plan.

2. Sign Up for IP Voice: Once you sign up for an IP Voice service, Telkom will give you your own unique VoIP number. It works like a phone number, and you’ll use it whenever you need to make and receive calls over the Internet1.

3. Use a VoIP Phone: Telkom recommends that you make use of their VoIP-enabled phone, as the setup and registration is automated and minimal customer input is required. If you have an existing VoIP phone, you can manually enter your IP Voice Details.

4. Activate the Configuration: You will have to log onto the customer portal to activate the configuration.

5. Costs: It’s free for Telkom Internet bundle customers and other ISP customers will pay a monthly rental fee for IP Voice clients. You’ll also pay for your Calling plan on a monthly basis, that you can use to call other mobile & landline numbers
