Gambling • New York • DraftKings : Mobile sports betting to launch in New York starting Jan. 8
The New York State Gaming Commission announced Thursday that four sports betting platforms and operators can begin offering mobile sports betting in the state as early as Saturday.
According to the New York State Lottery Commission, the four operators have met all regulatory requirements to accept and process mobile sports wagering in the state, and will begin accepting wagers on Saturday. This comes as a relief to New Yorkers who had hoped that the operators would go live before the Super Bowl.
Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Rush Street Interactive are among the licenced operators.

The Commission stated that each licensee will be responsible for determining when to accept wagers based on its commercial capabilities.
There are still five Mobile Sports Wagering Operators, out of the nine that New York State identified in November as its mobile sports betting selections, who are still working on completing the statutory and regulatory requirements to begin. This will be done on a rolling basis, as long as all of the prerequisites have been completed, according to the commission.
