India’s culture and society are based on religion, where gods and goddesses have a unique place. Various gods and goddesses are worshipped here for a happy life. One such deity is Lord Shri Chitragupta, who is worshipped annually on Kartik Shukla Paksha Dwitiya.
It is described in the Srishti part of the Padma Purana with descriptors like author, Kulshreshtha, author who writes letters to writers, accountant general, etc. A pen-drug, magazine, and bandage are said to have arrived in the hands of Brahma ji and Vishnu ji. His family was termed Kayastha for being born from Yugpita Brahma ji’s body, and Chitragupta for being situated in everyone’s heart. Since Shri Chitragupta is born from the effulgence of the trinity, he has Sat, Raj, and Tam.

Chitragupta had twelve sons. These twelve men’s descendants became the Kayasthas. These twelve sons settled around the country. As recorded in the Skanda Purana, the seven actions of the Kayasthas are portrayed as reading, teaching, conducting sacrifices, making sacrifices, providing charity, taking donations, and writing the Vedas.
Shri Chitragupta, who records the fate and actions of all incarnations of the universe, does not discriminate. Shri Chitragupta, the fulfiller of desires and auspicious works, has seven lamps of wisdom, learning, simplicity, spontaneity, purity, truthfulness, and faith. These lamps remind society to maintain the Trijota of knowledge, education, and intellect. In Indian culture, this day is related with pen-dawat devotion. Not only do Kayasthas who read and write revere and pray to Lord Chitragupta. The pen’s patron deity is Chitragupta Lord. That’s why they’ve been around forever.
