How to Activate your AGL SIM Card

If you’ve ordered a new number with your AGL service, we’ll activate your SIM automatically on the day it arrives. All you need to do is insert your new SIM into your device.

Activating your AGL SIM card is a straightforward process.

Here’s a breakdown of the steps involved:

1. New Number Activation:

  • Automatic Activation: If you ordered a new number with your AGL service, your SIM card will be automatically activated on the day it arrives (or within 1-2 business days). Simply insert the SIM card into your device and wait for the activation SMS.

2. Existing Number Transfer or Replacement SIM:

  • Online Activation:
    • Log in to your AGL account.
    • Select your property (if applicable).
    • Scroll down to the “Mobile” section.
    • Select “Activate SIM” and follow the prompts. You’ll need the 13-digit SIM serial number found on the back of your SIM card.

Important Notes:

  • Transferring Your Number: If you’re transferring your number from another provider, wait until your old service stops working before inserting your new AGL SIM card.
  • Activation Time: Activation usually occurs within an hour, but it can take up to 2 business days.
  • Confirmation: You’ll receive an SMS confirmation once your SIM card is activated.
  • No AGL Account? If you don’t have an AGL online account, you’ll be prompted to create one before activating your SIM card.

For eSIM activation:

  • Scan the QR Code: Scan the QR code provided in the welcome email sent by AGL.
  • Follow the Prompts: Follow the on-screen prompts on your phone to register your eSIM.
  • Transferring Your Number: If you’re transferring your number, you’ll also need to log in to your AGL account and follow the online activation steps mentioned earlier.

Order a replacement SIM

If you have a faulty or damaged SIM card you can order a replacement SIM card to be delivered to you. Note: $10 will be applied on your next bill for the replacement card.

To order a replacement SIM card:

  1. Log in to My Account, then select a property (if applicable).
  2. Scroll down to My Mobile.
  3. Next to the plan you want to modify, select “View Details”.
  4. Scroll down and select “Order replacement SIM card”, then follow the prompts.
