Activate and Confirm Your Wells Fargo Debit Card

There are several ways to activate and confirm your Wells Fargo Debit Card:

Activation Methods:

    1. Online or Mobile App:

      • Log in to your Wells Fargo Online account or the Wells Fargo Mobile App.
      • Navigate to the card activation section.
      • Follow the prompts to activate your card.
    2. Phone:

      • Call the toll-free number provided on the sticker attached to your new card.
      • Follow the automated instructions to activate your card.
    3. ATM:

      • Visit any Wells Fargo ATM.
      • Insert your card and enter your PIN.

Confirmation:

Once you’ve activated your card using one of the methods above, you can confirm its activation by:

  • Making a purchase with your card and PIN.
  • Checking your account balance online or through the mobile app to see if the card is listed as active.
  • Calling Wells Fargo customer service and asking them to confirm the card’s activation status.

Important Notes:

  • Make sure you have your card number and PIN ready when activating your card.
  • If you don’t have your PIN, it should have been mailed to you separately from your card.
  • If you encounter any issues during activation, contact Wells Fargo customer service for assistance.

How do I turn my debit card on or off?

If you have misplaced your card and need time to find it, you can temporarily turn your card off to help prevent unauthorized card transactions. When you find it, you can easily turn your card back on. Sign on to Wells Fargo Online® or log into your Wells Fargo Mobile app to access Turn Card On or Off. You can also call us at 1-800-TO-WELLS (1-800-869-3557) for personal debit or prepaid cards.
