Tracking numbers and activation codes
Tracking numbers and activation codes have a few basic rules:
- They are typically 6 digits long, but in some cases they could be 7 or 8 digits.
- Tracking numbers do not use “O” ohs or “I” eyes. They only use “0” zeros and “1” ones.
- Activation codes are the opposite and do not use “0” zeros and “1” ones. They only use “O” ohs or “I” eyes.
Some coins made between 2004 and 2006 have sequential numbers engraved after their tracking numbers. If you see a code that has a hyphen in it, such as “PC1234-201”, do not enter the hyphen and digits that appear after the hyphen. The sequential number after the hyphen is not part of the tracking number.
A few coins we made have the activation code engraved on them instead of the tracking number. In this case, the “0” zero and “1” one rule does not apply.
Some clients have their coins pre-activated before they distribute their coins. If you think your coin is activated before it should have been, please contact the owner of the coin before contacting us since it may be activated for a good reason.
Double check the number you typed.
You may have mistakenly entered an incorrect number.
We only host codes for items that were manufactured through us. If your activation code does not appear, then either the trackable item was not made through us, or there is a technical problem with our code list. Please contact us for questions.
Having trouble finding the geocaching tracking number on your geocoin?
First, make sure you actually have a trackable geocoin, geopin, or tag. Some geocoins are not trackable, and other coins are not geocoins but are instead logo or promotional coins. If you do have a trackable geocoin, then thoroughly look over the coin to find an engraved number. These numbers may be small or located under a removable part of the geocoin or geopin. Also, check if it is on the very edge of the coin.
