If you don’t know your HBO Max password, you can reset it at hbomax.com/forgot-password or change your password in Settings. To do this you’ll need to have access to your account email address.

Here’s how to reset your password:
- Open the HBO Max app and tap the Profile icon (bottom edge on phones, left edge on tablets).
- Tap Sign in to your account.
- Tap Forgot password? below the Sign In button
- Enter your account email and then choose Submit
- Check your inbox for a ‘Reset Your HBO Max Password’ email sent by HBO Max. This email should arrive within a few minutes.No Reset Password Email?This means the email you entered isn’t in use by an account. Do you have another email address? Repeat these steps for each of your email addresses.
- Open the ‘Reset Your HBO Max Password’ email and choose Reset Password.
- Enter a new password and then choose Save Password.

Reset Provider Password
If you don’t know the password for your TV, internet, or wireless provider account, look for a reset password option on your provider’s sign-in screen or website.
Can’t sign in with a provider
here are two ways to sign in depending on how you get HBO Max.
How are you trying to sign in?
- Through a TV, internet, or mobile provider
- With an account email and password
If you can’t sign in through your TV, internet, or mobile provider, try these steps:
Step 1: Sign in to your provider’s website
First things first, make sure you can sign in to your provider account. Your provider is who you signed up through or who bills you for HBO Max.
Go to your provider’s website and sign in with the username and password for your provider account. If you can’t remember or don’t know your sign-in information, look for a help or reset password link on your provider’s sign-in screen.
If you can’t sign in to your provider account, please contact your provider for help. HBO Max Support doesn’t have access to your provider sign-in information.
Step 2: Can’t verify your subscription?
If you’re getting a ‘Can’t verify your subscription’ message, find your provider below:
- AT&T wireless or internet: You may need to set up your plan for HBO Max.
- TV or cable provider:
- Make sure your TV package includes HBO Max. To do this, sign in to your provider account (on your provider’s website) and make sure HBO Max is included.
- Apple device: Try removing your TV provider in Settings. To do this on your Apple TV, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > TV Provider and choose Remove TV Provider. To do this on your iOS device, go to Settings > TV Provider and choose Remove TV Provider. Now, open HBO Max and try signing in again.
- Subaccount? Make sure you’re signing in with your primary TV provider account. Once you’re signed in, you can create profiles for members of your household.
- DIRECTV STREAM, DIRECTV, or U-Verse: Make sure your account includes access to HBO Max.
- Cricket Wireless: Make sure your Cricket Wireless plan includes access to HBO Max.
