Chris Pratt headlines the exciting new time-hopping sci-fi action film The Tomorrow War from director Chris McKay.
Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong and Keith Powers star in the film, due on July 2.
Pratt plays an ex-soldier, Dan, now living the quiet family life, when an unprecedented event takes place: the Earth receives a message from an army of the future, asking people to join their future war against aliens and save the human race from extinction.
Dan is drafted to fight alongside various non-experienced draftees, and together they travel to the future and fight against the alien threat.
The Tomorrow War comes to us from The Lego Batman Movie (2017) director Chris McKay, and while its primary focus is on the action and adventure, there is a significant family element to the story; Dan has a young daughter whom he fights for.

This aspect adds an emotional touch to the story, saving it from being a potentially generic time-jumping alien action sci-fi movie.
The action does look good, though, and there were Starship Troopers (1997) vibes in this trailer which was promising, though it’s unlikely this one will have as profound a satirical, political commentary.
The Tomorrow War co-stars Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons, Sam Richardson, and Betty Gilpin and arrives globally on 2 July 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.
