MH Wilds TU4 Patch Notes | Full Patch Notes and Key Changes

The Title Update 4 (TU4) for Monster Hunter Wilds dropped today, December 16, 2025. This is a massive “Winter Update” that brings back a fan-favorite Elder Dragon, adds a new armor upgrade system, and finally addresses the major performance complaints on PC.

Here are the full patch notes and key changes:

1. New Monster: Gogmazios

The massive, tar-covered Elder Dragon from MH4U returns as the centerpiece of this update.

  • The Fight: This is a Siege-style encounter. You can bring 4 Hunters and 4 Support Hunters (NPCs), making it an 8-character raid battle.

  • Unlock Requirement: You must be HR 100+ and have completed the main mission “A First Cry.”

  • Rewards: Materials for Gogma Artian Weapons.

2. New Content & Quests

  • Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad: Arrives on December 24, 2025. This is the super-hard version of the flagship monster, rewarding tickets for Gamma (ฮณ) armor.

  • New Support Hunters: You can now recruit Nadia (Light Bowgun) and Griffin (Great Sword) to your hunting party.

  • Optional Quests: New 9โ˜… multi-monster quests have been added for high-tier bragging rights nameplates.

3. New Systems

  • Armor Transcendence: A new endgame sink for HR 100+ players. You can now “Transcend” Rarity 9 and 10 armor to break the previous defense cap and, more importantly, upgrade decoration slots on lower-rarity gear.

  • Gogma Artian Weapons: A new tier of weapons that upgrades from the Artian tree. These weapons feature a “randomized” skill system (one bonus skill and one group skill) that can be rerolled using Gogma materials.

4. Seasonal Event: Festival of Accord (Lumenhymn)

  • Dates: December 19, 2025 โ€“ January 14, 2026.

  • Theme: Winter/Snow.

  • Bonuses: New winter-themed food, a “Snowman” Palico outfit, and double login bonuses.

  • Grand Hub: Fully decorated with snow and ice sculptures.

5. Performance & Technical Fixes (Big Deal)

Capcom has deployed the promised “Optimization Overhaul” in this patch.

  • CPU Optimization: Reduced the CPU load for NPC logic and collision detection (especially for the Seikret and Palicos).

  • GPU Stability: Improved shader compilation to reduce the “stuttering” issues on PC.

  • LOD Changes: Better management of distant monsters to prevent frame drops in the Oilwell Basin.

  • Crash Fix: Fixed the memory leak issue that caused crashes after 3+ hours of play in multiplayer.

Note for PC Users:

If you are using mods (especially “Reframework” or performance mods), disable them immediately. This update changes the internal file structure, and old mods will crash your game on launch.
