Abstract of "An Infant Monitoring System Using CO2 Sensors" Project
In this paper, an infant monitoring system was proposed to reduce the potential risks for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). This system can be used for infants at home or in a hospital nursery room. The system consists of carbon dioxide (CO2 ) sensors and active radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. A commercial metal-oxide based CO2 sensor was chosen and characterized in sensitivity, selectivity and humidity dependence. A proof-of-concept system, to be used for two infants in the same room, was designed and assembled. The RFID transmission was accomplished with a wireless module at two different operating frequencies. The results are promising. A method for further practical applications in a large nursery room is also discussed .

Infant Incubator Parameter Sensing And Monitoring Through Wireless
A system was designed which comprises of essential hard ware and software for monitoring the parameters through wireless Communication.
To control the temperature of the air adjacent an infant in an incubator. is to circulate the air within an incubator with a blower driven by a motor and to vary the blower speed based on the temperature of the air within the incubator.
Thermistors for sensing air temperature and motor controllers are known and have been used to control the temperature of the air adjacent an infant in an incubator and to reduce the blower speed and thereby the associated noise in the enclosure.
It is also necessary to monitor the CO2 Level in the incubator
Frequently, so that if the CO2 Level increases, In such a case, a oxygen valve is also actuated , for the infant to breathe properly.
We have to attach transducers to infants in an incubator to directly measure the infants temperature, respiration rate, pulse, and other physiological parameters and sent to a remote computer through wireless for processing the data.
Sensors Involved in Measurement:
1. Co2 Sensor
2. Thermistor
3. Heart Beat Sensor
